My photography journey

I fell in love with photography over 10 years ago. Getting where I am today has been a long road of ups and downs, but I’m so happy to be here.

I’ve been taking photos for as long as I can remember. I started with my old flip phones. Then I got digital point-and-shoot cameras. Eventually, I got a very early mirrorless camera, which I used to take photos of friends at parks and family at parties. I knew photography was something I wanted to do forever. I even entered myself into photo contests in high school. However, I felt held back by my gear and self-doubt.

A pivotal moment for me was getting my first DSLR as a college graduation gift. I was ready for so many doors to open up for me! I didn’t realize that I’d have to work hard to open them up myself, and I wasn’t ready for that then. Don’t get me wrong, I love having photography as a hobby. But, I’m finally ready to make a career out of it!

I’ve worked hard for the past two years to get my skills and confidence to the next level. I’ve been practicing more than ever. I took an online photography course, which gave me confidence and knowledge I didn’t even know I needed. The thing that’s helped me the most is mindset work. Thanks to consuming positive content and practicing gratitude, I finally feel mentally capable of turning my photography hobby into a business.

I have many different interests in all parts of my life, including photography. Choosing a niche has been tough. I know what I don’t want to do, but choosing between the niches I have an interest in has proven difficult. While I’ve chosen branding and product photography for my main business, I have a goal to also make a career out of my love for nature and concert photography.

If you’ve gotten this far, thank you. It’s not easy for me to share my thoughts like this, but I hope this gave you a good glimpse into my background and story. I want to be as transparent and vulnerable as possible so you know exactly who you’re working with when you book with me!
